As soon as you have received the box of materials, you and your students can get started!
However, one little thing is missing! Since the soil at your specific location plays an essential role in our main experiment,
you still need to find the right place on your school grounds to serve as an experimental area.
If your school does not have access to an outdoor area with soil (a garden, a lawn, etc.),
we ask that you procure two flower boxes – or two medium-sized flower pots – and a
sufficient amount of conventional potting soil.
SCHOOL PROJECT „IT‘S IN OUR HANDS“
Citizen Science goes school
According to the Green Paper on Citizen Science [1], the term Citizen Science refers to “the general public engagement in scientific research activities when citizens actively contribute to science either with their intellectual effort or surrounding knowledge or with their tools and resources”.
VEOCEL™ and Science Pool invite students from around the world to see for themselves, through (pre-)scientific work, how important it is to make evidence-based decisions! With this experiment on the degradability of fabrics based on different materials, we facilitate knowledge and action competency with which we can change our future!

TWO MATERIALS IN DEGRADABILITY COMPARISON
Same but different?
Can two fabrics with the same appearance have the same impact on our planet? This is the underlying question of our experiment on the degradability of two fabrics made of different materials.
We don’t often have the possibility to choose which is better. But if we do have a choice, how should we choose? With our experiment on degradability, we are giving students a tool for future decisions. Because comparison brings certainty!
